Raw Strawberry Jam Recipe - With Figs

Love strawberry jam but don’t want all the processed sugars and preservatives that store-bought jams come with? Making your own Raw Strawberry Jam is so quick, easy and versatile you’ll never want or need to buy processed jam again.

I’m always having fun creating new raw food recipes that include local, organic produce. Summer is the best time to pick up organic strawberries for a great price so I’ve been having fun with an old favorite recipe that always brings a smile to my face. Today, I’m going to show you how to make a low-fat Raw Strawberry Jam in under 5 minutes and with less than 5 ingredients.

Raw Food Kitchen Essentials

For this raw food recipe, you’ll need a food processor. I use and recommend a 14-cup Cuisinart Food Processor, but if you’re only making small bathes of food for you and your family then you might want to go with the 7-cup Cuisinart Food Processor, a similar model, but smaller and more affordable . Having a good-quality food processor is one of the top 4 raw food kitchen tools I recommend stocking your kitchen with.

Raw Ingredients

You can make this Raw Strawberry Jam recipe in a number of different ways. For this particular recipe, I used figs as well, but if you don’t have figs, not to worry, you can make just plain strawberry jam.

Plain Raw Strawberry Jam Recipe

  • Pit about 8 dates and process them in a food processor until as smooth as possible.
  • Wash 1.5 cups of organic strawberries and place them in the processor, along with:
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon (optional)
  • Pulse the ingredients until desired consistency is reached. “Pulse” means you don’t want to simply turn on the food processor and let it run, you want it to chop up the strawberries but leave a certain amount of “chunk”.

Place the raw strawberry jam in the fridge for about 30 minutes to chill and serve! You may want to try serving it with raw vegan butter on raw walnut cranberry bread. Raw Strawberry Fig Jam Recipe

I love figs – especially when they’re in season and I can get them local and organic. Nothing beats biting into a fresh fig and having fig jelly burst into your mouth. Real food is amazing isn’t it?  In this variation of raw strawberry jam, I like to use both fresh and dried figs.

  • Pit about 5 dates
  • Remove hard stem from 5 dried figs

Process dried figs and dates in a food processor until as smooth as possible.

  • Wash 1 cup of organic strawberries
  • Wash 1 cup organic fresh figs
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon (optional)

Place strawberries, figs, vanilla, and cinnamon in the food processor and process until you get a slightly chunky strawberry fig jam. Chill in the fridge for 30 minutes and pair it with raw vegan butter on raw cinnamon hazelnut scones.
